Their gooey softness just warms you up inside!
Ok, I admit it, they are not the most healthiest of food choices, but they have been made for others this time! For a change! Except for that one square that screamed: EAT ME!! ;)
They were just an excuse to bake, which I love to do when the opportunity arises, as I enjoy the process of making food when I dont have to eat it. I love watching other people's reactions to my food. There's a simple pleasure in that, as really good food is made with love.
When I make really good food from scratch, by the time it gets to the table, I end up not eating it. After spending hours tasting, checking and ensuring it is served in all of it's glory, I have sampled enough to kill my craving for it.
Odd, huh? I wonder how chefs and cooks do it? Or do they cook any other food that they are not paid to create? Or do they live on takeaways and pizza, anything but lifting a knife or stirring a sauce with a wooden spoon! Could be all of them, I suppose!
But every now and then, I find baking therapeutic. It calms and soothes without much effort. And with the slowcooked casserole I made today, food has been the highlight of my day, not my workout! :D
Hey, I'm human after all...
Goodnight, Dear Reader!
