Are you excited?
Are all the presents wrapped, placed under the tree? With the lights twinkling, reflecting off the wrapping paper?
The excitement starts to build, for me, when the tree is placed, ready to be decorated. It's a tradition to decorate it with Christmas music playing in the background. My personal favourite is Nat King Cole's the Christmas song. :) Makes me smile every time.
But the fun of it is that my younger brother and I do most of the work. The silly arguments about where the lights should be placed to "who put that bauble there?! It should go there" and so on. And all the while, The Pogues are cursing in the background (my favourite lyric is: "you scum bag, you maggot! You cheap lousy faggot!)! :D
As you can imagine, I'm down to the last minute wrapping and card writing - do you always manage to forget someone too? Im forever remembering some one a day too late! Whoops! :)
There are a few more vegetables to get too. And some things to bake on christmas eve too, but the bulk of the work is done and it's nearly time to relax. 1 more shift to go. :)
Hope uour plans are settled and in place, Dear Reader. No last minute dashes to the shops and market! Although i like to think that's all part of the fun. ;)
Until tomorrow, goodnight.
